That familiar fear.. creeps..but is a bit different

History does repeat itself, but with better technology.

RFID laws forging ahead in mostly secrecy. Why is no one opposing this? Because you are focused on surface shit having to do with your candidates manufactured drama. Because you are too busy worrying about your own regional mini-dramas, watching TV, movies and advertisements that promote selfishness and escapism and are drinking fluoridated water that numbs you and makes you too sick to ever think about a revolt or "fighting". You need to be aware to be focused on world issues that by and large end up affecting you (whether you want to admit it or not). Well, and I also happen to think because they are doing it without your knowledge and it is prophesised to happen-it is part of a larger plan.

Of course, one of the largest (and most hated by me as anyone who reads my blogs can tell) companies in the US is also pushing this in products - WalMart (which means all their suppliers are being forced to as well). :( Here are some info links, if you're interested, which, you should be. It is after all YOUR life, or is it?

Don't want one? Decide against it? Too bad.

This is also being done and determined without your knowledge. Welcome the UNEPS. aka A World Army, under one world government to promote peace and crush enemies of human dignity (the meaning of "human dignity" will not be determined by you personally, by the way). YOU cannot even get a answer at a customer service line from your phone company. YOU are being hijacked at any available opportunity - look around.

http://www.globalactionpw.org/UNEPS/index.htm
(here is an excerpt of this bill )
Whereas, at the 2005 World Summit, over 150 heads of state signed a document which the United Nations General Assembly adopted, declaring that `we are prepared to take collective action, in a timely and decisive manner, through the Security Council ... should peaceful means be inadequate and national authorities manifestly fail to protect their populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity.';

Whereas failed and failing states can become breeding grounds for terrorism, crime, trafficking, humanitarian catastrophes, and other threats to the United States;

Whereas the 2006 National Security Strategy clearly states that preventing humanitarian disasters and strengthening fragile states is in the national security interests of the United States;

Whereas numerous studies have shown that early intervention in humanitarian crises could save millions of lives and billions of dollars;

Whereas the international community spent approximately $200,000,000,000 on conflict management during the 1990s;

Whereas approximately $130,000,000,000 of that amount could have been saved through a more effective preventive approach to conflict management; (must save that money!)

      (1) the United States should use its voice, vote, and influence at the United Nations to facilitate and support the creation of a United Nations Emergency Peace Service (UNEPS); and
      (2) UNEPS--
        (A) should be a permanent entity based at designated sites of the United Nations, should include mobile field headquarters, and should be able to act immediately to address an emerging humanitarian crisis;
        (B) should be comprised of individuals who are recruited from United Nations Member States and who are carefully selected, expertly trained, and coherently organized;
        (C) should be a dedicated service with a wide range of professional skills within a single command structure, prepared to conduct multiple functions in diverse United Nations operations; and
        (D) should be able to provide an integrated service encompassing 120,000 to 180,000 civilian, police, judicial, military, and relief professionals.
Decide you will move somewhere else? Wanna leave?

Well, with the airlines merging to one..wages decreasing, healthcare insurance rates going up astronomically, money as we know it being obliterated, "credit" being of all importance, poverty and crime going up at severe rates and and dangerous security measures taken with the popularity of the tasers that kill and maim... Meh, I'm not even gonna get started on those possibilities...

All I have to say, is thank the Lord I finally believe I am going to be saved. Please make the end come soon, God. Continue to help me be strong with my faith in you God. Looking upward in persecution and with the knowledge of truth for perseverance of living while "the former things are passing away." We will all need you in these crazy ass "last days".

God is talking to me

Here is what he is saying.

Chris was not lying about Dawn, Amy or Kristen and also I recently learned Chris did not spend the day with Dawn. He went to hang with Matty. I miss Matty. I was wrong about this. He may have/may not have been lying about the thong and his "day at school" on November 12, unfortunately, because our relationship was based on lies and secrecy from the beginning, one will never know because there is no trust and no "Chris coming clean."

God is saying we have too much to work on for ourselves. We cannot not be together. Do not call him. Do not see him or speak to him.
He is saying "Take it slow! Heal. Breathe. Work on getting to know you and get closer to me. Do my will and give up yours, so I can give you riches."
He is saying "I love you in so many ways."
He is saying "be gentle with others"
He is saying "let go"
He is showing me how to love myself.
He is showing me what boundaries are.
He is showing me what self respect is.

This morning I went to Dr. Carrico and told him that I am appalled at his phys therapy treatment of me and that I cannot move my neck and that he ordered all this treatment and it has worn me out and I feel he wasn't showing that he cared about me individually. Instead of taking any responsibility he simply tried to shake my hand and said "Ok, goodbye." As I walked out I realized, I deserve better. If this Dr. cannot take responsibility for his own actions and apologize at least, or attempt to make amends how could I let him or trust him to "heal" me? Paying him $130 every time I see him! I walked out and I will not be returning.

Today as I was getting the tire looked at for 2nd opinion, (there was no nail found) Karin called me and asked me if I have spoken to Chris at all? No. I do not speak to Chris. I miss him. I thought what we had was "love" but he hurt me and I will not speak to him at this time. She asked me if he had emailed me anything? No. He does not email me. Then she let it go, that was very strange. Maybe she is just determining if I am staying strong in my boundaries...? We then talked about my new job.

I spoke to my boss Vicki today and we got through the conversation peacefully. I'm going to be learning new things in this position and I let her know I am excited.

In the future, if I ever get to the point of savings at work and get my back healed...I want to get a Macbook. Laptop or desktop? Laptop or desktop? I want to get an iphone and make my own apps for it. I remember Chris saying he was going to get me one.. another promise of his unfulfilled, just like my Dad. I have to make sure I stop choosing men like my stepfather from this relationship on. All my fathers promises were lies. He was an addict and a liar. A promiser of many things. God, I could write a book with Dad's failed promises to us and because we "loved" him.. we wanted to believe him. Well, I am not a child anymore and I choose my allowance. The child living inside me (my past memories) will NOT be lied to.

The more I think of my stepfather realistically and honestly and his qualities the more I can compare each man I chose and what he had in common with my Dad. Part of my Step 4. It's eerie. It's fucking scary, sad and it makes me think today I may never break the cycle completely. Which means :( No medical reason, no robbery or car accident, fire or activist killed in action. No stranger killing me, but a domestic partner who will say he "loves me"! What a horrible thought!

I want to buy the movie Penelope. I wish it was out on video because I would rent it today.

Thanks to my girlfriends.. another little roadmap

Sunday started off a little strange, we went to Calvary Chapel in Torrance and as I walked in Pres Bush was being filmed and speaking to the church. Um, what happened to "separation of church and state"? Wtf?

I told Karin I simply would not stay and would take a cab to our "regular" (we've gone 3 Sundays so far) church in Hermosa. This spawned a conversation I did not think I would have with Karin. We talked about our beliefs at that point. (RFID laws passed May 18, 2008, Last Days, and one world government that was prophesied, etc) We agree on some things, disagreed on others, but its ok. We accept each other as we are.

I was NOT going to worship in a place where the sermon is given backseat to the governments message. Karin and I ended up at our current church today and it was wonderful! The sermon was quite timely and the music as inspirational as ever. I also decided then and there, not only do I want to write music again but I also want to write music to God.

Today was also Diahnna's birthday celebration so we went to Little Door to celebrate but issues abounded over there so went & hung with the "boystown" boys at Hamburger Marys. I want to go back there! She is doing great, I am so happy to see her happy and feeling love. We had a lot of heart to heart and I also met her sweet friend Robin. I loved being there today!

I still can't move my neck and back is hurting much. I am getting one last treatment today (all I can afford from Chris's money to me) from the Chiro and hoping for the best. It is now in God's hands.

However, I do give thanks today for God blessing me with strong women in my life. With that a little list of the encouraging and sweet words I heard from my female friends today.

1) You are a great writer.
2) You want me to give you a massage?
3) I love you.
4) Do not be shy to reach out. We are here.
5) You deserve to love yourself first.
6) You are amazing, never ever forget that.

Ah and this... (good looking out ladies, the Lord knows I had no idea what flags were & actually things I found attracting!)

This is a list of red flags of a potentially bad rel'ship.
1. If your parents or siblings have doubts about him, pay attention. Listen and check it out.
2. If your intended has nothing good to say about his ex, beware. This is a pattern. Divorce is rarely only one persons fault.
3. If his children have nothing to do with him, do not believe him if he says his ex brainwashed them against him. My Stepchildren have told me it was because they hated him, and they have good reasons.
4. Look closely at his credit and job history. They are sure predictors of what your life will be like.
5. If he is over 30 and has no money, do not let him move in with you, and don't marry him until he is financially solvent. If he has any respect for you (and himself), he'll insist on it.
6. Be sure in your heart that you can live with him AS IS. You cannot change another person.
7. This a biggie: Beware if he has no friends. It is not true they all decided to side with his ex.
8. If your friends dislike him, pay attention. This is also true if he hates your friends.
9. If he has more than one DUI and still drinks, RUN!
10. If he is one personality at work or with others and another person alone with you, RUN!
11. If he has nothing to do with his parents, investigate why. Don't take his word for it (I will add this includes his siblings as well, and also if he says a lot of bad things about them it is not a good sign).
12. If he's an "expert on everything" and "brags" a lot, understand that he will turn off a lot of people, maybe even you.
13. If he has sexual problems, go with him to a doctor before you marry him. Believe me, his problem will become your problem.
14. If he is emotionally or verbally abusive, it will only get worse in time. Yelling, name-calling and glowering are classic signs of an abuser. Run!!!
15. If he is never wrong and never apologizes, everything will be "your fault" forever. And, after years of hearing it, you may even start to accept the blame.
16. If he does something wrong and he says, "That would not have happened if YOU hadn't (fill in the blank), thats another sign of an abuser. Run!!
17. If he is mean to children, pets or animals , recognize that he's pathological, and the next victim could be you.
18. It is THIS simple. Anyone who is willing to risk losing someone they love or a job they love to get high on drugs, HAS A PROBLEM you will never be able fix. Run!!

What Addicts Do

What Addicts Do
My name's Jon. I'm an addict. And this is what addicts do. You cannot nor will not change my behavior. You cannot make me treat you better, let alone with any respect. All I care about, all I think about, is my needs and how to go about fufilling them. You are a tool to me, something to use. When I say I love you I am lying through my teeth, because love is impossible for someone in active addiction. I wouldn't be using if I loved myself, and since I don't, I cannot love you.

My feelings are so pushed down and numbed by my drugs that I could be considered sociopathic. I have no empathy for you or anyone else. It doesn't faze me that I hurt you, leave you hungry, lie to you, cheat on you and steal from you.

My behavior cannot and will not change until i make a decison to stop using/drinking and then follow it up with a plan of action.

And until I make that decsion, I will hurt you again and again and again.

Stop being surprised.

I am an addict. And that's what addicts do.
---------------------------------------------
I am an addict

------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------

You can't make me clean, though I know it is what you want for me to be. But until I want it. I won't be. You can't love me clean, because until I learn to love myself. I won't be. I know you must wonder how can I learn to love myself when I am caught up in a life style of self-hatred and self destruction. I can learn from my own experiences. I can learn from the things that happen to me along the path of my own mistakes. I can learn by being allowed to suffer the consequences of my choices. Life has a funny way of teaching us the lessons we need learn.

I know it devastates you to watch me hurting myself. I know you want to jump in and save me. This helps ease your pain, but I don't think you understand just how damaging it is to me.

You see, although I look and sound like your loved one. I am not. That person is in a self imposed prison way deep down inside of my being and what you see before you is an addict ruled and reigned by my addiction. I am a addict and my main focus is to feed the addiction. Every effort you put forth in the name of "helping me" falls prey to my addiction giving it more power to shackle me down a little more each time.

I feed my addiction enough. So please don't help me.

The only way for the real me to get free is to be free. FREE to fall as far down as I need to go in order to find the strength to fight and find my way back. To break free.

How can or will I ever be able to get clean you wonder ...

The same way I gave myself over to my addiction is the same way I can give myself over to my recovery. BY MYSELF

By not enabling me you will be allowing me to reach "rock bottom". By trusting the process you move over and allow me to find the my own way back. You see, it is in the fight to get free that I will find myself. It is in the fight that I will learn to love myself and the more I love myself ... the more I will start to do to better myself, but I myself, must do this.

I am aware that when I use I am playing Russian roulette with my life. I know this, but that is a chance I take when I use. The addict in me is willing to take that chance in the name of getting high.

Rock bottom is but a circumstance away. I can't reach it you are blocking the entrance.

I know you love me and you only want whats best for me ... but that very love keeps you blind sighted to just what truly is best for me and causes you to act from/out of fear and emotions.

Please for my sake don't try to stop me... just let me go ... move out of the way and let me fall as far down as my addiction is going to take me ... as far down as I have to to reach rock bottom. Don't try to cushion the fall. Just believe in me and trust the process. Pray for me that when I do hit ... it is not with the impact that leaves me for dead (I know that is your greatest fear), but if it comes to that, be sure to tell my story so that others might learn from my mistakes and live.

Plans for Backstage

Well, I am off to meet the girls. I have decided that just like I did with my burned leg, so I will take Norah Jones to her deathbed.

When I burned my leg, I was so ashamed and felt so ugly and unattractive. I truly felt no man would ever love me again or marry me (I had gone out with so many guys who were grossed out by me, and later during this self-loathing time I met Brandon) so one night before coming to LA, I did a show for Houston Bernard in short shorts. Instead of hiding my horror, I decided I would let it out, show it to the world with pride and love and accept myself through it.

When I got on that stage, with my horror scars leg, I was completely nervous, ashamed and thought they would laugh me off. However, no one did and that was a night of a little brick of self- understanding for me.

I am doing that tonight. I am going to sing one song and one song only. Don't Know Why. I need to get over not under. I need to move forward, not back. I cannot allow myself to be afraid of hearing a song that reminds me of a couple nice moments in a relationship that was unsafe and dangerous.

What it actually will look like

Love ...
What the hell is love? Real love? Does anyone wonder?

Well, there is only one definition I care about now and it is this:
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, Love is not pompous, it is not rude, it does not seek it's own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things.

This is what it is and what it looks like. Firstly, and this is important, we have to have this for ourselves before we can ever plan to give it to someone else. We are the blueprint to start this love. Were we taught this love by our parents? I know I wasn't. So what else is there? Where do we learn this? Society? Um, no, society is very confused and lost. So where? Where do we fill our cups? Where will we actually experience true fulfillment and happiness?

I now believe we can only learn this love through God. Through spiritual guidance. Our parents were created so they could bring us into the world, teach us how to live here, give us to God and then let us go to be part of God's family. God teaches this to us. It is up to us to open ourselves to Him, so we may learn if we have not already. So we may eat His food to us which Job states is of more worth than actual food. His love to us is our message. His continual acceptance of us in our fucked up and imperfect selves is our message.

The exact opposite is what the world calls "love". What awaits us with that version is pain and death.

Here is the woman I strive on being for my eventual husband in time and with God's will for me. The message of how to behave is very clear as with everything else in the Bible.

Who can find a virtuous wife? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar. She rises also while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle goes not out by night. She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. {Because of her}Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes fine linen, and sells it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done well, but thou excels them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

What qualities should the husband have? Well, here is one idea...
  • The love of God above all things.
  • The love of others.
  • Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit.
  • Responsibility.
  • The desire to train his children in the “admonition of the Lord”.
  • Self-control, and self-restraint. (Proverbs 29:8 - Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger. Proverbs 29:11 - A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.) It also tells us not to be friends with or even associate with one who is easily angered. (Proverbs 22:24 - Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered,) This is one of my struggling points, as I’m sure it is with many men. (Psalm 19:14 - May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.)
  • Not an alcoholic/addict. (1 timothy 3:3 - not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 1 timothy 3:8 - Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.) (Proverbs 23:29-35 - Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things. You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. “They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt! They beat me, but I don’t feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?”)
  • A spiritual leader.
  • Not Prideful. Pride is one of the biggest enemies of mankind and of God. Pride is what caused the fall of Satan. (Isaiah 14:12-14 - How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” When we take selfish pride in anything, we are opening ourselves to this trap. This is the same trap that Adam and Eve fell for. Self-less pride on the other hand can be a good thing.

A husband should be a leader without being a dictator. He is to be the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. Jesus is not an uncaring or abusive, or cheating addict tyrant over the church. He is the Savior, protector, and supporter of His bride! He leads by love, understanding, truth and example. Jesus loved the church with a self-forgetting and self-sacrificing love, even unto his death. The more a husband learns to do this, the better leader he will be. The entire family will gladly and willingly follow his leadership and obey his directives, with very few exceptions. He will be an eagle, not a chicken.

On the other hand, when a husband continually forces his wife to do his will or follow his whims and fancies; he denies her the privilege of making her own choice. When a husband mistreats his wife; he does not treat her in the way that Christ treats the importance of the Church. This is not biblical, practical, or even humane.

Because this inhumane idea of dominance was my upbringing and male role models I continually sought out only these types of men. I have finally learned what the true picture was supposed to be and there is no going back to the previous. It is simply not attractive, or wanted nor desired.

I'm not even a Christian, nor follow/belong to any specific religion by any means, nor do I want children on this fallen earth, but I do wholeheartedly believe in God and His word. I want to do his will. I love to speak to him. He has shown himself to me and let me know He is always and was always there. He has indeed saved me many, many times. I am simply thanking Him, with my life, and with my actions.

Today's million dollar question?

Is this man a prize? Today I think he is with Dawn in the valley and then off to play pool with his friend Ray an get massages and "happy endings". Part of me, the past clinging part is saddened by this a little.

I have asked him to stop calling me and contacting me at all for 60 days to have time apart. To work on himself and/or/and move on with our lives. He has called 5 times yesterday and left what I think may have been messages (I don't know what he said because I deleted them) and that is not the behavior of someone listening or respecting.

He stated when we spoke he is "working very very very hard". He is under the incorrect impression that I "need to work on this too". Are you delusional? Work on what? You abused me, I deserve better treatment and I broke up with you. You said you are going to change, then do that-FOR YOURSELF. I am not the one who wants to be with you as the person you are. If you truly "love" me then you know what I wanted, and will do what you need to do and if you don't, well, you never did and won't.

I forgave you for what you did. You forgave me for what I did. I do not care if you change or don't change-that is up to you and if you do, it WILL be noticeable OVER TIME. If you move on and start fucking other people, or don't-I am working on myself only and only worrying about my own changes. My own life. I am only giving notice to MY life. Not yours. I am not dependent on you for love, money, for support, for trust, for approval, for acceptance, nothing. I have someone I can depend on who has shown I can depend on them, FOREVER. God.

Chris has said he wanted to give me money for my back, and yet there has been no contact to Karin. The actions don't match the words with him and never did. Karin mentioned that maybe the person I thought he was when I thought he had "changed" was not really him changing at all but a clever act. I'm beginning to think there may be something to that. She thinks its great how far I have come in my knowledge and strength of myself, and my body will eventually follow from the wreck I was that she met just months ago. Time and faith. Keep praying. Keep working on me. The Lord is helping me ever since I told Chris to forget about giving me any money ever and scrap that agreement.

The other part of me, that is growing quickly every day is wondering really, what is there to be jealous about? Is this Dawn (or any other girl) really getting a prize of a man? She is choosing someone with past qualities of:
  • ok with lying to people and being deceitful
  • ok with stealing
  • ok with violence and abuse in many forms
  • ok with breaking committments
  • prideful and insolent
  • sarcastic and irresponsible
  • seeks sexual satisfaction constantly
  • is faith-less and moral-less and has little care of a higher purpose in life other than seeking self gratification on most levels.
Imagine him in 5 years when she is feeling unattractive or gets pregnant, or god forbid, falls ill (I remember his treatment of me during that time)? Or 10 years of relationship with her, (after she loses her young looks or goes through menopause) perhaps with children? In 20 years, (when she may have issues with sex, or lost self esteem or be on her deathbed)?! Is this the type of man a woman would want to go through her life with? Who knows what could befall in between! A man with the above qualities as a life partner? As a team member? Someone who rarely looks at women as little more than tits, ass and a crutch to lean or at worst bothersome and to run from?

If I have learned anything in 30 years its that Life is hard sometimes. It can be scary and hurtful, and dangerous. Does one really want to choose a difficult person to go through it with or someone who won't even be capable of meeting life challenges and joys in sobriety and at their full faculties? Or someone who cannot enjoy HER at her full levels and sobriety? Someone who has no higher care of a purpose to bring them through life's little trials and tribulations with honesty, true love and respect? Someone who is seeking only worldly riches which are not lasting? What kind of husband would they be? What kind of father will they be?

With that.. we go to a look at society's idea of marriage today...
I went to see the Made Of Honor movie last night, alone. This movie was def produced by men. It was supposedly about a guy who is best friends with a girl and then one day he decides he wants to marry her and (gasp!) get married at all.

The guy in the movie, Tom, (who is incapable of saying I love you) is a foul mouthed, abusive, condescending, narcissistic jerk who sleeps around. He jumps in the wrong bed trying get his dick wet one Halloween night. In this bed is Hannah, a seemingly nice, smart girl who is attractive and goal oriented. He proceeds to insult her and her him (in the name of "honesty") upon their first meeting. (also known as verbal abuse)

Later after 10 years it shows him in bed with what is probably the 10,000th woman and living the "high life". Money, cars, and bitches in bars as they say (and everywhere else). This is portrayed at THE way to be. All his friends are jealous of him and yet as supportive as men can be with their insults and punches.

There is another guy (short shorts guy) in the movie, an underdog who is mercilessly teased for basically just being himself. This movie celebrates the time honored tradition of men being assholes. at some point, Hannah is going to leave for Scotland for work and Tom wishes her well and continues his routine of sleeping around and basically being a rich loser. Then he realizes, he misses her while she is gone and asks his friends well, "maybe it is time to settle down and maybe there is more to life than sleeping around". They laugh in his face, call him names and say they do not understand what the hell he is talking about, like 6 year olds.

He calls Hannah incessantly but they cannot get in touch in Scotland. When she returns he decides he will ask her hand in marriage and suddenly that "she is the one" for him. One thing happens to ruin his plan, and that is that Hannah has already fallen in love with a stoically portrayed Scot named Colin. Colin is attentive and caring, and handsome and he also is moneyed as well like asshole Tom. As Tom is her best friend, she asks him to be her MoH. Tom replies yes and then sets out with his friends to ruin his best friends wedding and relationship as well as "steal the bride".

What kind of man is this in real life? Should they be celebrated and made a film about? Who on earth would get a "catch" being with this type of guy? His friends are macho assholes, he is a sex addict and a narcissist and he has no respect for his own female best friend. Why would a woman think that a man she meets (that she doesn't know) is going to eventually treat her differently than he treats the other people in his life that he does know? He will not. Eventually the "passion" wears off and what do you have? The person, in their imperfection as they really are and they treat the amour the way they see/treated everyone else. Movies and TV, that's why.

Back to the movie, as the asshole gets motivated to steal Hannah, he learns has a job to do as MoH. He has to learn about china, and dresses, and locations, and services. He does all of this portrayed as a champ learning the playbook for a football game with the help of his idiot friends except one who says "fuck this I'm going to the strip bar, and try to get laid, we were supposed to be playing poker, not pot pourri, you fucking pussies." This is a person, Tom the asshole, has chosen as his best friend, how different is he from the real Tom? Not much? Guys rarely hang out with other guys who are the complete opposite of them or that they have no values in common with.

Later, he has to go to Scotland to get her as she is having the wedding there. He points out that she really doesn't know anything about Colin, still seeking to look his best while making Colin look bad, which is nearly impossible. Colin in the movie, is portrayed as THE perfect guy.

Here is where the message comes in, not only should the asshole not have to change his ways, or be a real MAN OF HONOR (the writers have no clue about honor), but that a loser, slut, lying, cheating scumbag deserves to get a great woman like Hannah by making what seems like surface changes in a months time. People DO NOT CHANGE completely in a month, or even 3 months. People change in their own time and with hard work and reflection involved. It is said that men who are dishonest, live in fear or escapism generally cannot change or only change with someone else and changes are gradual VERY gradual. So basically the guy we see before the "change and fear of Hannah leaving" is the same fucking disgusting guy she is actually ending up with!

To me, Tom is an asshole, so is his father. Tom's father is constantly getting divorced and marrying porn star girls (its his 7th marriage in the movie) with sexual contracts. He is physically abusive to Tom. They are unable to say I love you, or show any real feelings/sharing. Ugh.. more of this movie standard? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and all that...

Tom at the end of the movie after riding a horse to get Hannah (nice to use something so innocent and turn it on itself in an ugly way) and being throw through the doors of her wedding, he verbally abuses her (he tells her she looks terrible and pushes her) once more, and then says "I love you" which ends the movie (apparently it is all the character has ever been waiting for from him) and she apologizes to Colin and decides she will marry Tom instead. Again in real life, what kind of catch is she with?

Who the fuck cares if he said I love you? Why is "I love you" thrown around like so much lard? Love is an action, not a feeling OR a word. Anyone can say "I love you". It's only 3 fucking words. It is the actions that back up the words, and from most men in this movie, and a lot in real life I might add, they don't.

I was grossed out and sickened by this film. Because I know many women, and there is some girl out there who wants to get married, or is looking for someone to complete her perfect picture is going to be attracted to this kind of shit guy and think she is getting a prize. It is all she sees, every where she goes this arrogant, macho, sexual predator picture of "what man is" in all forms of advertisement and marketing and product. From her perception of movies, her hope, her beliefs and her social conditioning, she may end up in a abusive, cheating, thrill seeking, love-less relationship, when she deserves so much more.

In my honest opinion, all these "romantic comedies", are completely wrongly named. They should be called "romanticized abuse movies" because that is exactly what they are. There is no romance in these movies, and for me (a woman), the abuse IS NOT funny at all. They are churning out "I love you" movies that actually cast abusive, disrespectful and dangerous male characters in real life and calling it "feel good or hopeful" or "a dream come true". Who's dream exactly? How gross.

I vowed that I would not allow that to happen to me, that I will use the ouch factor, and I remembered the importance of looking to the Bible for learning, advice and role models not commercials, sinful TV shows, and glamorized abuse movies or people swayed by such dribble and so will my future boyfriend.

I will KNOW and TRUST and be able to RELY on that person before they ever even touch an ankle of mine and they will KNOW me. I will work on myself. I will know my likes, and dislikes, values and fears. I will try to get to being a complete whole person before entering into another relationship with a man. At this point in my life, anything else just won't do and won't be good enough.

So this is what some confidence looks like...

It is being able to say how you feel regardless of whether you will be accepted or whether you will anger someone or not! Without fear of reprisal. It is accepting yourself and your own feelings over others definitions of your feelings, which can never be correct. It is never being in denial of how you feel and trusting yourself while being respectful of the other person.

I am doing it now, and I have to say for a little girl who couldn't say the words "No" or "I feel" growing up for fear of being beaten up or abandoned, it feels fucking amazing!! Moreover, being around non-abusive people, there is actually an deserved apology, and it that is sincere! There is no blame, there is no withdrawal/silent treatment or turning it around and making it my responsibility for them to treat me well.

It is, "Yes, I see. I was wrong. I care. I will stop." Is there more of this to come for me, Jesus? See examples below..

"Dear Friend,
I wanted to express my dissatisfaction and hurt at your comment last night. You said "Fuck Off" and I did not appreciate that at all. Part of my recovery is to not associate myself with people who do not have qualities I admire or respect. Those qualities I want in a friend are:
  • people who are not abusive
  • people who have a healthy respect for women
  • people who are honest
  • people who are positive in their actions and words
  • people who are not addicted
Another part of recovery is finally having the ability to choose your friends and your allowance of treatment by them where there was once no choice at all. I would rather have no friends than ones who are even mildly abusive or controlling. Saying what you said to me is/was disrespectful, demeaning and unacceptable. Do not ever speak to me that way again!

I asked you to apologize to me and it was "sorry", insincere and sarcastic. Whether you feel this was justified or not, or "this is the way you are" as you said last night, is not my concern.

If you are too proud to apologize to someone sincerely or witness any of your own bad behavior and take honest responsibility for it, and make a change then I do not want you as an acquaintance either.

I will never speak badly of you, or talk about you behind your back about this, or come over and be disrespectful to you in anyway. You may choose to to talk Another Friend about this, that is your choice. I have no need to involve other people in my business with you. I plan on continuing a friendship with them. Thank you for taking the time to read this email."
Response:
"S,
First I'd like to say that I really appreciate your friendship to me. It has been a welcoming change in my life. We have a lot of things in common.

As for the comment yesterday, I am sincerely sorry if you were hurt or disappointed by it. I have to say that I do have foul mouth sometimes and it's not to hurt you at all that I say those words. I said "I am like that" because I do say some foul things around you guys without it being mean to you all. I will stop around you though. I do not want in any way to hurt your feelings. I value our friendship too much for that."

THEN ANOTHER SITUATION>>
Aquaintance,
A couple things about yesterday's interaction bothered me and I want to tell you what they were so they do not occur between us again.

1)You came into my room without asking me if it was ok to enter. I realize this is your *o*(e, but I pay %^( for the safety of having my own space within it as well as being respected while in it.

2) You came in and then mentioned I was "shedding" as we were testing out the vacuum cleaner. I did not appreciate that, and it was uncalled for and unacceptable. Though I do live here and you know some surface things about me, you do not know me or live in my body to ever determine anything about me in any way other than to state that "it is your opinion that I am shedding" not define my state of body or room absolutely, nor refer to me as one would refer about a dog.

I do not care what you meant by it or did not mean by it and do not want to have a conversation on it. I am stating please do not behave this way or speak to me like that again. Thank you."
Response:
"S,
I in no way meant to offend you and am truly sorry if I did. I consider us friends and did not mean to insult you or invade your space. I was curious to see if my work on the vacuum paid off. I only mentioned shedding because you had mentioned having lots of hair on the ground the other day when we were working on the vacuum.

Anyway, I'm truly sorry and hope you will accept my apology. I feel terrible and I hope you aren't mad at me."
The best thing about these 2 incidences is they were both the first and I made it known I will not tolerate disrespect if they are to continue to be around me. I am great. I am supportive of them, I do nice things for them and I treat them well. If they are going to make a bad choice against me/us, I let them be responsible for their actions. If they choose to act in this way again, fuck them, they are cut off. There is no second chance, because there is no longer allowance or attraction for abuse in any form of that in my life. I thank God for giving me the strength and I thank Jesus for showing me the way through his attitude and behavior.

Speaking of which, God had some serious fucking boundaries. He is very clear on things. There is no wishy washy-ness with Him and that is consistent and can be relied on. He is always there for me. He says it all the time. He will not tolerate pride or immorality. He backs up everything he says with action. That is stability. No enmeshment with him. He's never confused. He could tell the prophets that he loved who they were, but he still had something against them and then tell them what it was, not loving them any less but still feel angry. He let them be responsible for changing, responsible for their choices by suffering consequences. It is so beautiful.

I always would get so mad that people wouldn't treat me well, or wouldn't do the things I wanted them to do, trying to control them, even to the point of doing it for them! How on earth will anyone want to learn anything without actually reaping what they sow? I took away their need to be responsible because I felt I was responsible for them! They had no need to stop their ways, because someone else was paying the price!

I think its like this with God. If a parent constantly bails their kid out of trouble, or lets them get away with shit, and the kid gets caught up time and again in trouble, it is both parents fault AS WELL AS the kid. If the parents actually made the kid deal with their own bad choices and suffer the consequenses they bring, the kid would learn what is good choice and what is a bad choice. The kid would grow to maturity being responsible. The kid would learn that you reap what you sow.

Angry is a feeling, NOT an action. Abusive parents don't teach their kids responsibility, they teach them to be afraid of reprisal. They teach them to lie, to not say how they really feel, and to be dependent on someone else's response. They foster secrecy and deceit. Abuse is an action a choice to "let go" of anger with. A bad choice. Abuse is evil because it is wickedness. It is disrespect, it is invasion. It is proud and God is against proud hearts and minds because they court wrath and he wants us to be saved, not running toward death out of foolishness or haughtiness.

Gotta go get the nail out of my tire. I am going to jack it myself, take the tire off and patch it up. Look at me all handy man-womanish! I hope the Dr. can help me with my neck and back today. I feel like I got hit by a truck and I only have $75 of Chris's money to me left for treatment. =(

I, Thoughtsofmydelicatemind,

apologize to myself for caring for someone and going far around the bend for someone who did not realize my worth, my love and who I did not matter much to. Whatever they have said it was not enough to change their negative ways and believe they would happy with me. I know you deserve better. =)

Tonight is gonna be awesome! Kinda like a date but.. better - it's with 7 girls! I checked Chris's email today for the last time and asked him to change his password. What I found in there is unspeakable, but it is a testament to why it is important for me to let go and not speak to him.

My back and neck is hurting today so much! I need to get the healing on - in more ways than one!

Backsliding and Retrospect

I spoke to Chris yesterday. Why he called me and emailed me out of the blue is unknown.

Yes, it was all kinds of feelings things. Chris apologized for what he has done, though he still does not admit to "pushing" me. He admits to hurting me tremendously. I apologized for what I had done to him, though I did not admit to everything I have ever done to him either. We both stated we forgive one another. We both know that we abused one another.

His idea I think was to keep the focus on now. "well, how am I acting now?" "how do you feel now?" and that "he is changing" and he knows I have heard this before. Well, in my new view "now" is fleeting. "Now" is changeable and inconsistent. Now is uncertain and I am no longer attracted to uncertain or "danger ahead". He said he has stopped smoking weed now. He has quit drugs and is focusing on his addiction now. That he has "learned about honesty now". He said that he wants to give me money for my back and that he does not feel it was enough. Truth is, it wasn't. I do need money but I don't need it with expectations. If he chooses to give it to me of his own good will, that will be another building block toward restorative action.

Only over a long period of time will it be apparent that he has actually changed for him or has learned something from these events for his own good and during that time I will only be focusing on me, not him. He will not be a part of my life during that time.

I told him that I am happy for him. He has since lost my trust so I do not really believe in anything he says. Yet I did not promise him tomorrow, or next month or next year. I remained adamant with my message of no contact. I told him I do not want to be friends, I still do not want to talk, and I want time with NO CONTACT at all. Not an email or a call. I did not give in and say ok, you've changed this time, let's get back together! Nor did he ever mention or allude to wanting to be with me. He does not want to get back together and he does not want to be together.

I realized last night, that it was good for me to speak to him and get my expressions out, and get his view on what he has done to me (however distorted, in my opinion) it lets me know where he is in relation to me, and that is outside of my house in another state. I asked him what does he want from me and he said he wants to show me that he cares. He asked what can he do to show me that he cares and I told him honestly. "Stop doing drugs, get therapy/abuse counseling, stop lying and let time tell." It aint easy, but it is really simple.

Those were our biggest problems, and probably will be in his next relationship, and his next, and his next if he does not change these things. Whether he can/cant, does or doesn't is no longer my concern.

I also let him know that I am fine with and expect him to be moving on quickly (ie. having sex with the others). He said it wasn't about moving on, but it is and it was and really again, only time will tell. As we hung up, he sounded relieved that it is over and he sounded like he had gotten some real closure. Last call! Last call. Last email. What is that? It is last when it is the last.

Anyway, I feel good today. I am going over my goals and determining my next moves within the faith and trying to quit cigarettes once more, heal my back and get ready for roller derby, surfing, and beach volleyball. A friend last night did something I found reprehensible and I let them know it right away (1st incident is last or else). I am proud of myself AGAIN. Boundaries. Without fear or need of approval. If I did not have my faith in God...well, like Latifah sings in the new Hairspray.."I know where I have been". It wasn't healthy, it wasn't safe and it definitely wasn't fulfilling or happy.

There's a road We must travel
There's a promise We must make
'Cause the riches Will be plenty
Worth the risk And chances that we take

There's a dream In the future
There's a struggle We have yet to win
Use that pride In our hearts
To lift us up To tomorrow
'Cause just to sit still Would be a sin

I know it, I know it I know where I'm going
And the Lord knows I know..Where I've been

Hairspray

Today/Tonight - much happened -not down at 12:30a. I am going to bed. I will write more tomorrow.

Norah Jones and my ruined night

Well, karaoke was awesome. I was having a great time singing along with others and did my own great rendition of "Fever".

Then someone decided they wanted to sing Norah Jones-Don't Know Why, and I DON'T KNOW WHY but I started crying my eyes out right there in the bar. I just broke out into tears. Memories came flooding of a Chris who actually took a couple moments to help me, listen to me, and turn off the lights, burn candles, turn on soothing music and just.. hold me sweetly while Norah songs played. I deserve a man who would do that for me often, not just on one or two nights that I can recall.

Ugh. It was horrid. I got tissues and continued crying hard through the whole song, Sandra with her arms around me. Finally, I left after trying to happily sing What Goes Around-Justin Timbertoes.

Anyway, I drove by his house on the way home against my better judgment. Car Honda was in the front (probably fixed, with all the money he has now), the lights were off, and I drove by there for about 1 minute just looking at his window and just imagined him lying with someone else, high and then drove off. It is better for me to think and pretend he has moved on and is already fucking other women because he is not going to change and be less abusive, more honest, or less on drugs.

I still deserve better, even though Norah helped me clean out my tear ducts tonight. I did not call him as tempted.

I still deserve to someday find someone with a higher sweetness/goodness/soberness count.

30 days almost!

I love this poem. It sums up how I feel today.

After Awhile
After awhile you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn't mean possession and company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build your roads today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.

After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure that you really are strong and you really do have worth and you learn and you learn.....
-Veronica Shoffstall

I went to the Dr. today and began my first of 3 treatments on the DRX and physical therapy. I hope to be working by next week and continuing strong in my current path.

I am wildly impressed and proud of myself. I have gone almost 24 days without speaking to Chris! Who would have thought I could do that? Not me, looking back I remember how harsh I was with him when he had wanted to spend even just 3 days to himself. Of course, he was also cheating and I couldn't trust him, but with someone else, I have learned through this that I will be able to give that person time in the future as well as request my own time away and relish it for them AND for me.

I have realized that was a mistake on my part. I don't think I thought I was really capable of being alone, until now. I am learning that I can, and that I will still live. LOL. That it is really preferable in the relationship for the long term, to be able to spend a lot of time apart-doing your own things.

For a girl who couldn't have 3 days away from her bf without hearing from him at all, I have come a LONG way. I can do this. I can do another 30 days and another! It is HARD, but it is a lesson and a challenge and it's one thing I do for myself every day that keeps me in relational health and in Chris's case, alive.

Dont fucking touch me!

Gosh tonight was HARD not to be touched at all by strangers! Dinner at CPK was alot of fun!

At Backstage, people bumping into me, um, everywhere we went. The Backstage Grill was soooo crowded. I did my best not to have anyone touch me, but there were so many people that the whole time I was crowded in. I had a great time nonetheless and will try to be stronger against this next time I am in a very crowded place, or leave.

Pancho's should be easier on the body at least and the ears. :) God bless me tonight, hopefully not too many bad dreams. Church in Torrance with Karin in the am should be interesting.

Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me! Goodnight to Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me! e! Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me! Goodnight to me!
